There is something for everyone at Molesey Regatta.
One of the main entertainments of course is sitting on the bank and watching the rowing. In addition to this, there will be lots of music and short musical performances from local groups, starting from noon. Jazz, singing, rock, tribute. These will go on at intervals into the evening. You can settle down with a drink and some food and just listen to some great performances.
On Saturday evening, a band will be playing until 11 p.m. Listen, dance, chat – that sort of thing. A hog roast and food will be available.
A vintage fairground is there too for the smaller regatta goers. Swingboats, a roundabout and an old fashioned organ. Nothing bouncy but fun to be on.
A fire-engine from Surrey Fire and Rescue is coming on both days – for an hour or two – provided that nothing is on fire in the neighbourhood. Children especially can be shown all the equipment and actually get into the cab. Nice too, to have a chat with the firemen. When you see them at the regatta, it’s hard to believe what they have to do in real life.
Quite a number of shops and stalls will be on the regatta site, usually with locally made items such as jewellery, scarves and postcards. Again it’s worth a chat to the stall holders to find out how things are made.
There is no entry fee, except for parking, and you are free to use what we provide or bring your own picnic and sit under the trees on the river bank.
We provide a bar with real ale, teas and sandwiches and cakes, a barbecue and a Pimms bar – all under cover and with tables and chairs outside.
Icecream is also available
HERE IS A SUMMARY OF EVENTS

The Molesey Amateur Regatta is held along the banks of the River Thames on the Hurst Park in West Molesey, KT8 1RT. Entry is Free (but parking is £4, including a programme). There are over 700 crews that attend and race over the 2 days, so 1600 competitors. The Saturday events are dedicated to Adults masters, Seniors and Elite rowers racing in anything from single sculling to eights with a cox at the helm. Sundays is Juniors day (aged 11 -18) and full of as much racing and often more than Saturday with juniors fighting it out sometimes their first race.
The regatta includes a Beer Festival sponsored by Fullers and offering a wide range of beers not only from Fullers but also 16 racked craft beers. For the first time we are introducing beers from the Twickenham Brewery including ‘Naked ladies’ and ‘Grandstand’. We aim to provide beers, lagers and cider to appeal to all palates and strengths, so we have ABV’s from mild to high, hoppy flavours, malts and light lagers and cider from The Cornish Orchard Cider company. To keep things even more local we have spirits from ‘The Thames Ditton Gin Company’ providing some tastings of their new Pink Gin range and we also have ‘Fizz and Frolics’ with a rather dashing quirky mobile bar serving Cocktails, Champagne and Prosecco. Pimms is also available at the bar along with wines and other spirits.
